The ISA is a global intergovernmental organization dedicated to advancing solar power adoption for a carbon neutral future

The International Solar Alliance (ISA), a joint initiative of India and France, was launched at COP21 in Paris in 2015 to advance global solar action. Following a 2020 amendment, all UN member states can join; today, 100+ countries are signatories and 90+ are full members. ISA aims to mobilise $1 trillion in solar investments by 2030 while lowering technology and financing costs.

As a platform for international solar energy cooperation, the ISA supports Member Countries across various sectors

Headquartered in India, the International Solar Alliance (ISA) collaborates with global partners to deliver affordable solar solutions, with a focus on Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

Through its Analytics & Advocacy focus, spreads awareness and champions the adoption of solar-friendly policies and practices in its Member Countries.

Mission

Every home no matter how far away, will have a light at home

The ISA is guided by its “Towards 1000” strategy, which aims to mobilise USD 1,000 billion of investments in solar energy solutions by 2030 while delivering energy access to 1,000 million people using clean energy solutions and resulting in the installation of 1,000 GW of solar energy capacity.
